FAQ

Everything you need to know about hair loss and Happy Head Shop OTC products.

Good Questions. Honest Answers.

How is this different from Happy Head Rx?

Happy Head Rx is our prescription platform — treatments that require a licensed dermatologist to evaluate your hair loss and write a custom prescription. Happy Head Shop is our over-the-counter line, built with the same clinical standards but available directly to you, no appointment or prescription needed. If you're not sure which is right for you, our quiz can help.

When will I see results?

Hair grows in cycles, and real, lasting results take time to build. Most men notice a reduction in shedding within the first 4–8 weeks. Visible changes in density and coverage typically appear between months 3 and 6. Commit to the timeline. The men who do are the ones who see the biggest difference.

Will this affect my sex drive or hormone levels?

No. Happy Head Shop's over-the-counter products,  including our 5% minoxidil serum, work topically and do not affect testosterone or hormone levels. Minoxidil is not a DHT blocker and has no known impact on libido or sexual function. If you have specific concerns about a particular product, reach out to our medical team.

Will it cause hair growth in other places?

Minoxidil is applied directly to the scalp, and when used as directed, systemic absorption is minimal. Unwanted hair growth elsewhere is uncommon with topical use at the correct dose. If you notice any unexpected changes, discontinue use and consult a doctor.

How does the subscription work?

Your products ship automatically every 30 days at a 15% discount off the one-time price. No contract, no commitment — pause or cancel anytime from your account. Most men find that subscribing is the easiest way to stay consistent, and consistency is what drives results.

Can I use these products with my prescription treatment?

Yes — Happy Head Shop products are designed to work alongside prescription hair loss treatments, including those from Happy Head Rx. Our formulations target complementary mechanisms and are generally safe to use in combination. If you're on a prescription therapy and have questions about specific interactions, check with your prescribing doctor or contact our medical team directly.
